Settling in


Rationale: To ensure that families are given sufficient information to allow them to feel comfortable as quickly as possible.


Purpose: Families will be provided with sufficient information to allow them to make an informed choice about Playcentre as an early childhood option.


Procedures:

  1. Potential new families are able to visit prior to formally enrolling 3 times.
  2. New families will be given written, oral information and introductory talks about expectations of parents, centre policies and Playcentre philosophy. Guidelines of resources, talks to be given etc.or things to consult to get this may be part of your association resources?
  3. New families will be given support by everyone on session until they are settled.
  4. Children over two and a half may be left without their parent when both the parent and supervising team are confident that the child has settled.
